Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first appearance was on television as Jackie Harris, a character that was played by her mother on Roseanne, an ABC sitcom Roseanne. Her parents, however, did not permit her to perform until she reached the age of adulthood because of the negative effects that stress could be able to have on their daughter. Perry says she didn't want to be an actor in high school but decided to take up playing as a way to make friends while at Northwestern University when she switched from Boston University. Perry, after graduating from Boston University, moved in New York in search of TV roles. Her small part was on TV shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But, her home-sickness drove her to California for theater roles. The Other Place was performed by her and her mom in 2013 on Broadway in 2013 In 2015, she performed with her father as well as Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie in the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry was in nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family during 2016. Perry played a prominent role in the ABC drama about politics Scandal which starred her father. Also, she was cast on The CBS show The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. Despite the fact that she has a connection with her family to the character she got the role through an audition.
