The tall and athletic Catherine Bell was born in London, England, but she moved into Los Angeles with her mother when she was still an infant. Although she had intended to study pre-medicine in college, Bell dropped out in order to pursue modeling as a profession in Japan. After a couple of commercials she went back home to L.A. and did some minor filming. Isabella Rosellini hired her in 1992 to serve as her naked physique double. While filming the show, Death Becomes Her she came across Adam Deason (her future husband). Her interest was sparked by small appearances on the NBC JAG drama JAG. Her skills in real life as a kickboxer snowboarder led her to play physically challenging roles in action films Men of War Crash Dive and Black Thunder.
